How to use TikTok in your next campaign?

In my previous blog post, I wrote about the importance of including TikTok in your campaign and outlined some global study findings on the effect TikTok leaves on the consumers’ buying path. This blog will answer another critical question – how to use TikTok in your next marketing campaign.
Know your audience

Like all other social media platforms, the most fundamental requirement to creating a successful TikTok presence for your brand is identifying your target audience. Understanding and assessing your customer base is crucial. Study their online habits, buying behaviors, preferences, and decision motivators.

After segmenting your audience into the categories, you wish to target, and the next step would be to focus on the content your audience would like to engage with.

Content is key

People go through loads of content each time they hook themselves on their preferred platform. Therefore, generating valuable and exciting content is vital. The earlier study shows that 44% of daily TikTok users want branded content to be fun. More importantly, 37% of users discovered something on TikTok and immediately went to buy it.

TikTok mainly thrives on viral content and audience connection. When content is relevant to the audience, your potential customers will return for more engaging content on your profile. And don’t forget, social media is all about storytelling – so your content needs to reflect the audience’s emotions.

Hashtags? Of course

If you aim to reach an organic audience, hashtags are a must. Here are three essential rules to identify the right hashtags for your brand or product:
Look out for trending hashtags – you can locate these hashtags on the ‘Discover page’ and see whether any trending hashtags fit your brand or product.
Look at influencers – Influencer Marketing is another essential crucial of a successful marketing strategy on TikTok. Take some ideas from the hashtags used by influencers in your area related to your products. (I’ll dedicate a blog to this)

Use common hashtags – Some hashtags are already popular on TikTok, like fyp, fy, viral, love, etc.

Don’t forget

TikTok is the right platform where you can identify the latest trends. Catch them early and make them yours. TikTok trends are never static, which makes them ideal for creating fun content.

In the next blog, I’ll go into TikTok Business for paid content.
